My girlfriend just ordered a crosstrek. I'm part of other vehicle forums so I joined up here for the info and knowledge base.

Be nice to her. She may let you drive it. Welcome and enjoy the knowledge.

Welcome to the club!

If you're new to the brand, I highly recommend you check out the "New to Subaru" thread as well as the break-in procedures if your Subaru vehicle being purchased is going to be in new condition, if you haven't already.

What convinced your girlfriend to get a Subaru, let alone a crossover vehicle over a regular passenger vehicle or a truck-framed vehicle?

I use the term knowledge loosely

She's had small suvs before. She is in a luxury hybrid car now bc she was driving 20k + miles/yr. Now her commute is practically nothing so she doesn't want the $$$ payment. She wants to sit higher but have a car like ride. Also she wanted to lease and Subaru's lease well. She's a Ford/Lincoln/Mercury girl. I pointed her toward the Subaru. I would need the turbo engine if it was me. It should be good for her needs.

I'm in the don't baby it but don't bang it off the rev limiter camp as far as break in goes. Change the oil a couple times before the 1k mark when I'm breaking in a bike. We'll just go by the book for her cross.
