First- Thank YOU for YOUR service Todd.

Myself: Active duty Army. Just shy of 6 yrs. from 1983-1990. First MOS was 95B Military police stationed at Miesau Army Depot, what was then, West Germany. We proudly called ourselves tower rats, because that was part of our mission- stand in our towers and guard bunkers. it was high speed though for a 18-20 yr. old. Plus, I drove up and down the autobahn like a crazy man! Great times! Anyway, Did a 2 year hitch, got out, (stayed out less than a year) then low and behold, re-upped for 91p X-ray technician. Did 4 years at Ft Hood and almost reenlisted thinking I had 6 in, another 4 would have given me 10, then at that point you stay for 20 right? Wasn't to be though, I opted out (just before the start of the first Iraqi war) and the X-ray skills laid a solid foundation in the medical field for the next 20 years! Ol Uncle Sam did right by me and never asked anything in return. Not like the soldiers of today and the last 20 years who have given so much... some paying the ultimate price. God Bless them all and their families.

Thanks, Bob.... I wouldn't want to change a thing. Priceless in many ways. It's amazing how things change over time. Things are soooo different now.

I started off being stationed in SOCAL as MCAS Tustin. I worked CH-46 and CH-53 Helos for my first 7 years. I then became an Instructor for 3 years at MCAS Cherry Point, NC ( Havelock, NC)... LOVED teaching! As an Instructor, I took a BIG liking to the armament equipment on the AV-8B Harrier and requested a transfer to MCAS Yuma, AZ for the next 4 years.
I then moved to 29 Palms, CA .... wow... should have re-thought that, but it was only 3 years. My last duty station was MCAS Miramar, San Diego, CA where I worked on F/A-18's....

I have had many deployments in my time... some good... some bad. Do I miss it? Sometimes.........
