Lightbulb Subaru Ascent, the successor to the Subaru Tribeca

It seems we need a new forum section for the Subaru Ascent. For now, placing this thread in the Subaru Tribeca forum section will suffice temporarily.

I just watched the live stream at https://www.subaru.com/2017-laas

The notes I took down so far of the new 2019 Subaru Ascent 3-row crossover:

Quote:
2.4L Subaru BOXER direct-injection turbo (likely an FA or FB engine block)
260 HP
277 lb-ft of torque at 2000 RPM
5000 lbs towing capacity (when properly equipped)
2nd row captain's seats available no-cost option
EyeSight Driver Assistance standard
X-MODE standard
will be released early summer
low $30,000's USD price range
8.7 inches of ground clearance
Wi-Fi connectivity
Up to 8 USB ports available
Falken ZIEX ZE001 A/S tires in ??? 245/50R20 ???
19 cup and bottle holders
Front camera
pivoting LED headlamps
rain-sensing wipers

Good article that covers most of it

Exclusive 2019 Subaru Ascent Prototype First Drive: Biggest Subie Ever - Motor Trend

no idea why it needed 19 cup holders... even if you get the 8 passenger option and everyone has 2 drinks.. you've still got spares lol.

Not gunna lie, was a little disappointed to only see a 2.4 turbo. Would have been awesome to see an H6t, but I know fuel economy blah blah blah.

At least with the turbo, there should be power mods (tuning, injectors, exhaust, bigger turbo, etc etc) for more gains unlike any real viable gain options for the xtrek.
