Default 2018 orange paint issues

I got an 18 day before Christmas and almost immediately the paint was coming off the hood. Now the lower door and roof. Subaru is having the dealer paint the entire car under warranty.

Have any pictures of it?

I know Subaru paint is damn thin as is.. and that why I did the whole front end in clear bra to prevent chips.

But ive never heard of it just peeling off or anything like that.

My 2014 XV has the same issue. Paint chips, everywhere, like after day one. Not just on the hood but in places like the middle of the tailgate up by the wiper blade, the roof!, doors...just not good paint. I have 7 years to get this evaluated and repainted says the dealer. The good news is whatever primer they use is top notch...no rust, zero, and I'm near the coast too. C'mon Subaru, get better paint or use more of it! Is yours a little orange-peeled too?

It’s happened before at other manufacturers. In particular, I remember Buick/GM having issues with that Burgundy color several years back. They fought that it was not a problem, and it took law suits to get them to admit there was an issue. That cost them more than admitting it early and fixing it. So be glad Subaru realizes an issue and is fixing it. I wouldn’t be surprised that a TSB is already in the pipeline. Once they figure what batch of colors or primer is involved, owners will be notified
