My Vehicle: 2018 Subaru Crosstrek: Cool gray khaki
Unhappy Odd bugs

Hey everybody.

Brand new to this forum and also brand new Subaru customer.

I just purchased a Crosstrek on Saturday (8" with navi) and I love it but the infotainment software is definitely buggy. I've reset it once. No issues with the stereo/audio yet, but some of the vehicle option toggles don't toggle.

I wanted to turn off the chirp when I lock my car and I can access the screen just fine. When I hit the toggle, the graphic changes, but the setting doesn't actually change.

Wondering if anyone else is having these kinds of weird things happen.

Sad to see other people's issues in here, but happy to find a forum where people are discussing stuff.

Take care!
Daniel

Hey-o @fastlanestranger
Welcome to the (usually) wonderful world of Subaru! I also thought I was having that issue... turns out you should be able to toggle those options if the car is in park/accessory mode. If you were in any other mode than 'park' it may not let you toggle those. I figured that out the hard way...not sure if you tried that, but give it a shot if you haven't already!

Default Thanks for the info!

Hey kateci,
Thanks for the reply. I'll give that a shot when I get back to my car tonight.
I was talking with a buddy who is a bit of a new car freak in that he leases and gets a new automobile every three years, and he was saying that infotainment systems are notoriously buggy across the board, so that chilled me out. Haha.
It's the first one I've ever had in a car, so I didn't know what to expect.
In spite of that, this seems like a fantastic automobile and I'm looking forward to combing through these forums for sage advice from you and the other members.
Have a good one and thanks again for the info.

They are all buggy but the Subaru one crashing to the point it had to be replaced is bad tho. Atleast those bugs are fixed.

Having an issue with static coming from the front right speaker as soon as I unlock the car and get in, without turning the car on. Static remains whether I have the stereo playing or not. Static doesn't go away until I turn the car off, and the electronics completely shut down after the few minutes. The volume of the static varies each time I get in the car. I have the 8" Nav pkg. Has anyone been successful with having Subaru repair/replace without the symptoms returning?

The amps on the HK unit are horrible. My first one was loud and clear but the software crapped. New one software is working for the most part but the amps suck ass

I think the doors are more like self powered speakers with individual ice amps in each.
Little class d ice amps on integrated circuits. Power efficient and clean.

I have the same problem with my new 2018 crosstrek limited except radio was blaring so loudly I could not drive the car. It was stuck in starlink screen. The dealer said “short the battery briefly” to reset. This is not a good solution.
