My Vehicle: 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek 5MT

At Tokyo Motor Show 2017 (45th Tokyo Motor Show 2017)...

“SUBARU XV FUN ADVENTURE CONCEPT” is a design concept model to emphasize the world of SUBARU XV, which combines advanced styling and function of top-level SUV. As its sporty and urban styling is undisturbed, the whole design is perfected to fully enjoy outdoor activities by adding exclusive off-road tires, wheel arch with bold design of cladding, and body coloring that shines brightly in the big nature. Denim-like fabric is used in the interior for more rugged style. The zigzag pattern of seats is the motif of tire mark to add playful heart of SUBARU XV. Forget not the adventurous spirit, and have brilliant life to be yourself. This is a special vehicle to encourage active life of all.
So the list of significant changes according to the TAS decription includes:
  • Yokohama Geolandar M/T G003 tires (possibly custom one-offs, I can't find any in 17 inch wheels with such a small aspect ratio)
  • custom wider faux bolt-on style wheel arches and wider body cladding
  • faux denim fabric

Subaru has clearly been paying attention to what XV (Crosstrek) drivers have been doing to fully enjoy the outdoor capabilities of their vehicles.

It appears this concept XV uses the Forester wheels painted fully black. Can anyone confirm if the rooftop tent is one that is commercially-available and commonly-used? Anyone know the rack setup?

Official information from Subaru has yet to be released regarding this concept car.

The rooftop can support up to 400lbs, so it’ll sleep Even well built Americans.

These roof top tents are so cool. Always wondered about rack weight. Thule and Yakima bars are rated for 150 lbs, but apparently CVT and Tepaui have solved that, as many a car are sporting these nowadays. Just can bring myself to pay $800-1200 for a tent that looks as well made as a Wall-mart special for $100. You'd think for the price, they make the tent look a little more refined. If I live in Australia with snakes and all the creepy crawlies, I have one on every car I ever owned!

Instead of "Yellow" how about coming out with a

Hunter or Forest Green metallic, as a color option!
