Default PhotoBucket

Hi all,

I have noticed that more recent posts on here have pics from PhotoBucket, which I apparently do not have. Went on their site and it looks like a fee-based type thing...of course. Anyone know a way around this? Maybe a fee version, etc. I have been growing tired of all the $5-10/mo subscriptions to this or that. Thx.

Photobucket used to be free. A few months ago they upped their "free" to $399 dollars per year. Pay up or they blank out any picture you have posted anywhere. I've used it for several years so...now I have a bunch of blank spaces on several forums because I refuse to pay their black mail fee or is that extortion? There are other free sites out there however but I wouldn't advise using PhotoBucket.

Thanks. That explains a lot. $399 a year?.....that's just a few years of Netflix!

Way back in my early years of world wide web use, I used to use Imageshack to host my photos. Unfortunately, much like photobucket, they've switched to the "pay or we take your images' public viewability away" business model.

I use Imgur these days as it seems to be on the track of remaining free-to-use.

There are some ways around it.

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...ed-fix/?src=ss - FireFox

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/d...flicjjgj?hl=en - Chrome

Not sure how long they will work until PB shuts them down but they work for now.

Thank you. Seems that the fee World Wide Web is slowly becoming a per-use fee system.
