Default Crosstreck oil change question

Hello everybody,
I performed and oil change last night on my Subaru Crosstreck 2018. The book is saying that you need 5.1 qt of oil. After draining the old oil, I just filled it with 5qt but the level was much lower of the min sign. I have adde another quart of oil and I still not at the min sign (very close). Any idea what going on?

Are you parked and checking the oil level on a more or less perfectly flat ground?

The level was close to half an inch below the min sign.

So, you've put in 6 qts and it is still low on the dip stick?

Are you sure you're checking the engine oil and not transmission (a decent amount of people have accidentally done this)?

Not really sure what it could be if it's still showing low and you have more than required in it.

Are you sure about 5.1 quarts? I also have a 2018 Crosstrek. The back page of my owners manual says the engine oil capacity is 4.7 US quarts. Likewise, chapter 12-5 of the manual also says "Changing the oil and oil filter 4.7 US quarts."
