Windshield replacement is covered by your auto insurance comprehensive portion (not Collision).
Additionally, most of the major insurers waive the deductible for replacement due to road /rock damages.

Mine doesn’t raise my rates but does have a 500 $ deductible. So it pays for approximately 1/2.

Yeah, I just learned about the comprehensive covers windows thing today!


So, at the moment, I've decided just to stick with the 3 years/36K miles standard warranty for now. If I end up having the car for 10 or more years, given my yearly mileage, I'll probably spend less than with any extended warranty (OEM or 3rd party).


All of my fingers and toes are crossed on *that* bet!
