Default Introduction

Hi,

I'm new to this forum but not to Subaru. My love of this type of vehicle started with the AMC Eagle Wagon. Yes, I'm the guy who actually liked the front end of the '06 B9 Tribeca!

Welcome, glad you joined! Do you have a Crosstrek already or are just planning on buying one sometime (or maybe just dreaming)? Do you have a Tribeca?

Thanks for signing up, I hope you enjoy it here and find what you're looking for!

I've had the Crosstrek for about 3 weeks now and couldn't be more pleased. My Tribeca is long gone and I can't say I'm sorry about it. That was the only one of my Subarus that didn't pass the 100,000 mile mark.
I've read some lukewarm reviews of the Crosstrek from the 'professionals'. They whine about the lack of power and the utilitarian interior and I think they all have missed the point. If they had taken the time to consider the purpose of this vehicle I believe they would have looked upon it more favorably.

Bottom line: I love my Crosstrek!

Awesome, glad you love it. You said your Tribeca didn't make it past the 100k mile mark, is that because it broke down before then, or you just sold it before then?

The Tribeca was a first year model with some issues. The engine required Super Unleaded to run right and it tended to be noisy on the highway. If I went over any uneven road surface the front end hammered like the shocks were going to fall out. More than one dealer said that was 'normal'. At about 65K a front headlight went out and the driver's side power window motor failed. My previous Subarus were bulletproof so this one really left me disenchanted. I'm hoping that was just an anomaly.

I'm glad to be back in the Subaru camp and I don't think I could have chosen a better vehicle for my return.

I got ya, I never really was a fan of the Tribeca but hopefully your experience with it doesn't make you think too poorly of Subaru, I've had nothing but good times with both of mine!
