Very true about dealerships milking the price. Since there aren't any used cars on the market to compete, they pretty much control the price of the model.

I'm in NC and the dealerships I've contacted have all been unimpressive with their responses. I know the vehicle is in somewhat short supply but I guess I just don't get the "warm fuzzies" from the personnel. To be fair I've spoken with one by phone and others via email so we aren't meeting one on one yet. I'll have to check out the Burlington dealership. Worth the drive to find someone who wants to make a sale. Being quoted msrp plus fees. I may be female and I don't purchase a new vehicle every couple of years but don't treat me with such disrespect. Lgugtkvove the vehicle as advertised. A good test drive and a good retailer will finish the sale for me. Still a month out on purchasing a new vehicle so I still have high hopes....

Don't lose hope on all dealers as I know there are good apples out there!

Our salesman was very knowledgeable about the XV. They were also very friendly, all the salesmen there friendly not just the one I was dealing with So our experience wasn't bad at all...expect having to wait for vehicle to come in but that isn't the dealerships fault!

My initial experience with my dealer was terrible. On a whim, at the last minute, I called their Internet sales guy, told him their sales guy on the lot was terrible, and said I'd give him a chance to give me a quote before I walked out the door to buy from another Subaru dealership further out of town. He apologized and offered me the CrossTrek at $2200 under sticker and I was in the door a short time later.

I told them up front that I had financing arranged, they couldn't run my credit, and they wouldn't sell me anything else. They honored that and had me out the door in about an hour. They were super professional, fast, and respected my wishes.

It was a great experience and pretty surprising. Sometimes it just comes down to finding the right person.

Out in an hour...wow. I was probably at my dealer five hours at least!

Yeah it was as painless as buying a car can get. A lot of that has to do with the fact that I had secured financing before calling the dealer. That speeds up the process considerably. I expected to get bogged down with their finance and insurance guy, who is the one who really closes the deal, but he was fast and didn't pressure me on every possible add-on.

I have to say the dealer we used in Allentown, PA was absolutely amazing! If anybody is in the area go visit Becker Subaru on Hamilton Blvd. Everybody was so nice and we were in and out of the finance office in 10 minutes (literally). It is because of their service that I might actually take my car in for the service department instead of doing it myself.

Sounds like some great experiences.

Also, tt certainly isn't mandatory (how could it be?), but if you really want you can always post dealer reviews in our review section http://clubcrosstrek.com/index.php/board,28.0.html

Reviews are welcome in other threads, like this one, as well, though!
