Hi all,

I currently don't own a subaru. :'( I've owned one in the past one of the very rare 1989 RX turbos. Between 1987 and 1989 only 2600 were produce. I drove it until the engine blew (I took very bad care of the car). That was 18 years ago or so....

Currently have a Red 2004 PT Cruiser, once paid off, I plan to buy a new car and the Crosstrek is on my short list.

Scott

Welcome to the club. How close are you to paying off the PT?

Well, if I keep the pace that I'm going at now, I would guess 4 to 6 months.

Welcome to the site, Scott. 4-6 months is not bad at all to pay off the PT so it sounds like you could be in a Crosstrek pretty soon.

Thanks for signing up!

The PT is not worth what is owed on it, I would hate to be 30k+ in debt for a Crosstrek. Plus, I want trade-in + down payment to be 8k to 10k. The gas savings would be nice those, the PT gets just over 19 MPG.

Hey Rivmage...Welcome! I remember when the PT Cruiser first came out. They were HOTT- you couldn't get one right off the lot. It had to be ordered and there was a six month waiting list! I know because I gave a $500 deposit on one but 3 mos. into it I bailed because I really needed a car. Funny how time changes perspective...I wouldn't be surprised if they become collectible decades from now.

Welcome to the forums! 4-6months isnt too terrible in the scheme of things, you might be able to get a great deal if a dealer is trying to dump a 2013 that they still having cluttering up their shiny new 2014s by then!
