Just purchased the XV Crosstrek this past January after moving to Colorado. I traded in my 2012 Corolla S because I felt that a Subaru would be a better 2nd vehicle for the family. My wife's first true driving experience ever in snow was with our 1998 Subaru Outback Sport; a fine vehicle that was demolished while we were away with only 6 months left to pay. But, I always thought how cool the 98 Sport would be lifted. It dawned on me that they may have been one of my subconscious thoughts that kept me going back to the XV in the showroom. Sat in the STI and the regular Impreza, but the XV felt right. And, of course the off color drew me further in. The only gripes I have are that business will keep me away for a bit, there was no standard with the moonroof, and some of the accessories overseas are very nice.
If you are REALLY new to a Subaru, then you have a great vehicle.
