My Vehicle: 2018 Crosstrek Premium w/ Eyesight
Default 2018 Backup lights question

Looking for members input.

I see that the 2018 Crosstrek Premium uses a 7440 bulb for the backup lights.

Some LED backup bulbs, even though they are 7440's have aspects of the

dimensions that prevent them fitting. If you installed LED backup bulbs in your

Crosstrek. I would really like your input on:

** BRANDS that fit,
** Any issues,
** How much brighter do they seem,
** Do they blind out your back up camera and overall and
** Your level of satisfaction.

Your time and input is appreciated.

Considering the 2nd generation Subaru XV w/ Eyesight had issues with LED brake bulbs, I would proceed with caution regarding LED bulbs on your vehicle.

Going with a Diode Dynamics or other reputable LED bulb manufacturer will be a safe bet.

I do not have LED reverse lamp bulbs, but from what I've read, they have been generally beneficial.

I have heard that the issues with LED lights are with the "brake" lights. the lower power in the LED's makes the Eyesight think there is a fault with the brake system.

Also if you do the turn signals, a resistor is needed.

The only thing I have heard about the "backup" lights is some don't fit and some are not an improvement in output.

I did but D.D. fog lights and ORDERED their SL! low beams. But their high lummen backups are $90... So I figures Id do a little looking into backup lights...
Still hoping to get input from those that have upgraded their backup lights.
