Default Annoying door chime

Does this happen to anyone else? I find it incredibly annoying. I stop the car, shift to park, and apply the hand brake. When I open the driver's door it makes a continuous warning tone (chime) until I close it. This happens to me every day while I get out to open my driveway gate. At nighttime especially, I hate to make any noise to bother people around, especially if I happen to be in a campground.

I have a 2015 hybrid with push-start and the key is always in my pocket, so there's no risk of locking the keys in the car. This is the dumbest warning I've seen on a car.

Why not just close the door when going to open your gate?

Yes, I also find it incredibly annoying, although it doesn't happen every time. I haven't figured out what sequence of events causes it. I just reach down and hit the rubber button on the door frame (the door closed sensor).

Default Turn it off

I suggest that you turn off the sensor. I think you can tweak it near the steering wheel but just ask for a mechanic to di just to be sure that you won't remove wrong wires.
