Default Webasto Sunroof install

Just wondering if anyone has had a Webasto sunroof installed in their XV and how they like it?

How is the functionality and how OEM the installation is.

Thanks!

Step 3: Pick up car.

Yup, sunroof installed. I didn't get a change to take pictures, it was cold and rainy here today...but overall it looks good. My only 2 complaints and I am not sure if I would categorize them as complains are:

The headliner is overlayed with a new material (the entire thing), although the color is a perfect match, if you look carefully you can see slight imperfections...but it is what it is and isn't a big deal I imagine if you didn't know it was a new liner material you may not notice.

The trim ring around the outside was sealed with RTV/Silicone, such that when it is installed it compresses and some oozes out and can see it slightly on the outside where it was wiped clean...thinking some isopropyl alcohol might remove it...but again it is what it is and isn't a big deal..

As soon as I get a chance I will take some piks, inside and out.

So I have to be the guy to ask for posterity:

Why not just order an XV with a sunroof?
What was the cost of this compared to the sunroof option?
Does this install void your warranty if still applicable?
Would you recommend this for 5spd XV-ers that don't have the option of a sunroof?
Does this full open or just tilt?

Looks good. A sunroof was a must-have for me. Really sucks that they're not available w/ the manual option from Subaru. This could be a great work-around.

Why not just order an XV with a sunroof?
-Can't get a 5 speed with a sunroof
What was the cost of this compared to the sunroof option?
-Really can't compare as you need to get one with a CVT and other options
Does this install void your warranty if still applicable?
-It does not void the warranty, also this shop installs for dealers.
Would you recommend this for 5spd XV-ers that don't have the option of a sunroof?
-Yes, if the person so desires a sunroof.
Does this full open or just tilt?
-It is exactly like OEM, tilts open in the back and will also retract fully.

Also, if it is retracted it will close when the car is shut off to keep you from leaving it open. (but will stay tilted up when car is off)

Nice. Great option for 5spd owners. If I had to do it all over again I'd go with this and a stick.

Just wanted to post the pik of the imperfection in the headliner, it isn't a big deal and the picture makes it look worse than it is...

Also, in the picture of the sunroof from the outside, if you look carefully enough you can see the residual of the silicone around the outside ring. again, not a big deal I wish there was a way to clean it up a bit, but silicone is next to impossible to remove without harming the paint.
