Default oil life indicator?

so, maybe i've missed this, but is there an oil life indicator on my 2013? I've not found it. I'm probably around 4k miles now so I'll likely change the oil this weekend.

No oil life indicator. For the 13 model year, the recommended oil change interval is every 7,500 miles for normal use and 3,750 miles if you do a lot of short trips or mostly city type driving.

Subaru has been a lot more lax compared to the industry standard on features such as maintenance minders.

As previously stated, 7500 mile OCI, 3750 mile severe service OCI. 2015 model years and newer have a 6000 mile OCI, 3000 mile severe service OCI.

But I do believe Starlink infotainment-equipped models (model year 2015 and newer) feature the maintenance minders and schedule though.

wow.....7500 miles. so not used to that. yeah, my driving is sub 50 miles one way, very mild stop and go on the way and highway on the way back.

I'll probably stick to the 7500 miles.

wish subaru was better about that.

What oil change interval were you expecting? In 2015, Subaru changed it's oil change interval requirements to 6,000 miles. On my new FXT, I plan on doing that until warranty expiration and then rely on oil analysis.

My other subie is an 05 LGT wagon. I'm just used to doing every 3-4k. especially with the issues that car was prone to have.

With the kind of miles you're driving, changing oil every 3-4k would be a waste considering you're using synthetic oil. My old commuter was a 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid which used 0-20W synthetic and the oil change requirements was every 10,000 miles. I did that for 258,000 miles before I sold it. Still attained mid 40s mpg on each tank and only used a half quart in between oil changes.

those LGT's were weird. I tried synthetic when I had under 100k on it and I burned through a quart before i'd hit 3k miles. switched to high mileage blend and it seemed to like it much better. i'd only occasionally have to add 1/2 quart. now at 276k, if I have to add any, it's because me HG's are leaking.
