Default Tire pressure for new car

Hello,

I've had a new 2018 Crosstrek Limited for about 2 months now and I can't seem to figure out if my tire tires are over inflated by the dealer or not.

When I look at the electronic dash mesurements, I see this.

On the drivers side, the tire pressure placard recommends different kpa pressures. Can someone explain what's going on here? Why are the stock tires inflated so much higher?

Most car manufacturers over inflate the tires for shipping on the boat and the car carrier to the dealerships. When dealerships do the PDI they should set the tires to the correct pressure. 285kpa=41.3psi. 275kpa=40psi. I believe the recommended psi is 33 front and 32 back.
