Since day one I have noticed that my crosstrek has some intermittent suspension noise and vibration that I'm not very pleased with. It happens mostly at low speeds on uneven pavement. I figured that's just how the car was designed and learned to live with it.
The other day I was filling up at the gas station and a couple with a 2015 crosstrek asked me if my suspension is "clunking" or "popping" yet. They said the strut mounts are bad, there is a TSB for it, and the dealer won't do anything about. I said that I have some complaints about the suspension but it never occurred to me that anything was "wrong" with any suspension components on the car. So of course ever since then I'm noticing the vibration more and more and I feel it more through the break pedal and steering wheel. What can I say? In full disclosure I'm kind of a human NVH analyzer.... noises, rattles, and vibrations really drive me nuts.
Anyway, I did a little research. There is a TSB# 5-61-2016 - "Popping" Sound from Front Strut Mounts on Low Speed Turns.
I haven't been able to read the TSB yet because I'm not going to pay Subaru $34 to get access to it. As I understand it, there is a superseded strut mount P/N 20320FG012 and this TSB instructs techs to replace the part with the new one.
Has anyone out there had experience with this issue? Thanks
