Default ClubCrosstrek Acquisition

Hi everyone!

Josh and myself are excited to share some news with everyone about the site. Recently Andy from Social Knowledge (Fuelly.com among many others) approached us about Club Crosstrek joining their family of forum communities. After some back and forth we felt it would be a great fit and a couple of weeks ago we signed the documents and the site was moved over to their servers.

Josh will be departing as an admin, but I plan to essentially remain in the same role as I've been in the past and am looking forward to have Andy and his team here to help as well. It's also my understanding they typically try to build mod/admin teams from the members so it looks like some of you may be able to join me on the team to help manage our community moving forward.

I'll let Andy post an intro now and if you have any questions please feel free to post here or PM/email me directly.

Best,

Philip & Josh

Hey there,

I know how personal forum communities are, I have been working with forums since 2001 and some of my best friends are virtual people who I never met in real life yet they know what's going on in my life because we hang out on the same forums. I found Club Crosstrek when analyzing some logs for a site I run called Fuelly. I saw some members here were members of Fuelly so I reach out to see if we could find a way to partner. I am honored that Philip & Josh decided we would be a good fit and allowed us to adopt this great forum community. We'll work hard to make sure this site remains the #1 forum for Crosstrek owners in North America.

I know we'll need to earn your trust so whenever you have a question, please post it and we'll get back to you ASAP.

As for the near term plans for Club Crosstrek, it's pretty much business as usually. Normally we convert sites to vBulletin but we're building an integration tool for Fuelly so leaving this forum on SMF makes sense (although we might convert it later if we feel the community would grow/benefit from a commercial software in place). Our plan is to get to know everyone and try to build out the mod/admin team so you all can help decide how to manage the site.

You will notice a few people from my team. Most notably is Janet H, she's my right hand gal. She'll swing by to make sure everything is okay and run anything up the flag pole that needs attention. We also have a user named Tech Admin which is the server/software admin account.

I look forward to getting to know you all in the years to come.

Regards,

Andy

Welcome aboard! Both ways, I suppose. I've been a member here and on Fuelly since before I purchased my XV, so I'm excited to see how this goes. I'm very happy with Fuelly and with ClubCrosstrek. As you guys mentioned, these things can be intimidating, but I imagine this will be good for both sites.

Good luck on both sides of things!

Anything that Andy and his team decide to change will be an improvement I'm sure. I'll also be here in basically the same capacity I have been from the beginning to make everything go smoothly. Please PM or email me with any concerns!
