Default Improving CCT and Recruiting New Members - Opinions?

As a new forum, the number one challenge we face at ClubCrosstrek is not just bringing in new members, but getting them to actually sign up and post.

Thus far in our infancy, we've had some amazing members already join and show their enthusiasm for the Crosstrek and Subaru alike, which makes me think: If I want to know how to bring new members into the site, I should ask our current members what brought THEM here.

So, what brought you here and inclined you to sign up for our little community? Do you feel like you want to stick around and watch it grow? What would you do to change it?

We, as the staff of ClubCrosstrek, our asking for our members' compliments and criticisms alike so that we can learn and better the forum in order to benefit us all, so let us know!

Best,

ClubCrosstrek Staff

Word of mouth and internet searches is how i find forums. As far as this site goes I found though google search. I would say get the clurcrosstrek stickers out there and also license plate borders. I would totally rock those two items on my XVC

I too found this forum searching around on a couple questions about the XV when I was thinking about buying one. Despite the small size it seemed well organized and the people seemed to genuinely be interested in helping each other and answering questions to the best of their ability. Seems like a solid tight knit group!

So far I think it's been great. Obviously there are only so many XV owners out there currently but I imagine that this forum will grow. Current members will recommend it to new members and so on. I think some PR wouldn't hurt, stickers or plate frames or something to that effect.

Another small forum I was a part of a few years ago did a very fun and friendly competition to see who could get the most legit referrals for a small prize at the end for the user with the most referrals. Obviously there's some level of honor system involved but overall it seemed to bring a few more people to the forum with good intentions.

I'm sure this forum will grow as the XV following grows

Thank you both for the input. The forum seems to be growing more and more each day (I'm having a hard time keeping up with the new posts!) and hopefully it will continue to do so.

RE: referrals, our forum software actually has a built-in referral system. If you go to Profile > Summary, you will see a referral link. Just give that out to people and when they sign up using the link it will show us that you gave them the referral. We have been thinking of doing some kind of competition, maybe this summer once we get the stickers made and distributed. Also, license plate frames are a good idea, I'll look into it.

I'd be willing to shell some money for club stickers and a license plate frame. Maybe even look into a license plate delete with the "club crosstrek.com" logo on it. Some of us don't want the front plate and instead of getting a Cobb or other branded front plate delete we can get one with the club name on it. Should be relatively cheap since its just a rectangular piece of plastic (assuming you use plastic).

Stickers I plan on giving out for free, but I was just thinking about license plate frames and/or front plate deletes. It seems I can get them made pretty cheap and it would fix a lot of peoples' problems, at least mine, with the front license plate holes. I'll look into it!

I would definitely put at club crosstrek sticker on my back window. I would also shell out money for a sweatshirt. It would be perfect for campfire nights and venturing out into the woods.
