Hi Britany, We now drive a desert khaki xv. My bride wanted an awd, my wrx was too fast & she didn't want to shift gears any more. We live very close to the snake but haven't taken the xv over the mtn. (yet) What color is your xv ? Any problems ?
Thanks Hacksaw,,,,
I like your signature w/avg. mpg. Our 1st top off @ 331 mi. netted 42mpg !
That was highway driving from the dealer in NC & some local travel w/only a few signals/stop signs. The 1st mod was to install a sport mesh grill w/o the subie emblem.
Thanks Hacksaw,,,,

That's impressive! I've only been able to squeeze out 40+ mpg on two occasions; while in Yellowstone touring the park. The speed limit was 35-45 mph inside the park. You should consider tracking your mpg on Fuelly to share with the rest of us.
Thanks for the link, Hacksaw but since her driving habits have changed since the mini, she seldom checks the mpg. It's avg is about 30 - 31, depending on conditions. I'm sure the K&N air filter helps. My son & I replaced the rear sway bar w/a 19mm & she's very happy w/it. I did the same to my '14 wrx & wish I'd done it sooner.
My Crosstrek is getting bout 40-42 mpg now. I tinted the windows and added some emblem wraps to change the color and stand out more. I just got a new mesh grill and some hella supertone horns in today and also some Hella lights to go on a bull bar from SSD Performance. I'm waiting to put them on till I get the bull bar and the hella horns powder coated the same color as the emblems in a few weeks. I'll post pictures once I finish everthing!
I managed 40.2 MPG using every last gram of patience I had following tractor trailers on one of my drives home for 120 miles from Sacramento, CA to the San Jose area in my 5-speed manual XV Crosstrek...
Do you have a Lineartronic CVT or manual transmission? I would imagine probably the CVT since it is far more capable of high MPG.
Anyone still here? I’m in Nashville. I’d love to meet some people and maybe hit a few trails. I know of nothing around Nashville to get into. I used to have a Jeep and regularly took it to offroad parks, but most of the trails are a little too extreme for the Trek.
There’s life in the thread! While you traded in your jeep, I still have mine. My drive way feels like it contains two polar opposites of each other. And you’re right, the trails that the wrangler likes to crawl across won’t work with the crosstrek.
I think the Crosstrek is capable of the trails 90% of Jeep owners will take their Jeeps on. I beat my Jeep pretty bad, though. I always went to offroad parks. I have got to find some places to go softroading!
Also from Knoxville ...... I just purchased my first Subie ... A 2014 Crosstrek Premium. I also have a hugely modified Nissan Frontier pickup that is my offload vehicle ..... Windrock often!
There are lots of nice gravel forestry roads up in the Cherohala Skyway area for folks interested in mild easy off-roading. It is also an easy drive thru the Joyce Kilmer forest to "The Dragon".
If any of the east Tennessee folks want to get together and do an easy offroad drive I will work at setting something up.
