Default Using CD slot to hold Tablet

I dont use CDs any longer and I was thinking of putting a tablet in the car for NAV/music/Google voice/waze/podcasts but cant find a suitable holder that uses the CD slot instead of the vents.

Anyone thinking of the same thing?

Never even considered that, but not a bad idea. A quick search lead me to this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2079563 Looks to be pretty good.

I, personally, use a window mount, but only for exceptionally long trips which is only about 2% of my driving.

Why not just get a in dash Nav like pioneer or alpine with app compatibility? It seems to make way more sense than to actually mount a tablet in the car. That way you can stow it and control the apps via the dash screen.

Good point about the pioneer but those apps are not nearly as robust and capable as Google based navigation waze Google voice etc' plus I could get all my radio stations through the net without a subscription to a satellite service.

I like that mount. I saw another one for about 20. I'll post it when it soon'

Pioneer has the option of running android and IOS apps through the head units. Including waze and google maps. I haven't experimented with the android much but I do use waze and INRIX traffic pretty regularly through my pioneer with no complaints.
