We had a great mini vacation this weekend at our favorite hill country cabin. Saturday: Awesome breakfast by chef David Farrar followed by a pretty strenuous hike up 2200' of the the rocky West Trail at Lost Maples and then an awesome drive out to Leaky (one of the best drives in the state). Sunday we drove to the Mexican border and back home. 1,000 mile weekend.

A video, not mine, of one of the awesome routes we drove. The Crosstrek kept up with bikes.

Breakfast at the cabin. The chef grows/raises everything locally. He even dictates the diet of the chickens who lay the eggs. It was freakin' awesome.

Wow, that looks awesome. It's just the type of thing I am looking to do soon. Just me, my dog, and maybe a couple of friends going and relaxing up somewhere in the mountains.

Great photos and thanks for sharing!

Sounds like a great trip, Im jealous! All of these crosstrek pics are inspiring me to think up a trip for when it gets warmer over here on the east coast.

The pics look like they could be advertisements!

Those are some amazing images, nicely shot. We look forward to our 1k+ mileage weekend, however ours will be 95N and not too many country roads.
