Well, after a lot of trial and error, I discovered that the factory speakers refused to be driven by anything but the factory head unit. Not entirely sure what kind of black magic is up with those. I ended up replacing the speakers with better ones. Also ran new wires to the front doors to bypass the crossover as I opted to omit the use of the tweeters in the dash.
16 Headunit upgrade audio issues
I am upgrading from the stock 6.2" non-nav head-unit to a new radio. I am having an issue with sound only coming out of the front right speakers and front left tweeter, but nothing else. I am using the recommended harnesses and all the wires seem to be in the correct locations. And if i reconnect the stock head-unit everything works properly. Anyone else have this issues and know how to solve it? I'm suspecting that there is a hidden factory amp somewhere that isn't getting triggered, but I haven't been able to find any documentation on whether or not such an amp exists or if there is something else entirely that is the cause.
