I recently bought a new 2018 Crosstrwk Base Model and sadly I live in baltimore and my front driver window was smashed recently. The dealer was the only person who had the glass for my car so I took it there to get it replaced. The dealer called me and told me they installed the new window, but when the glass was smashed it must have broken the window regulator as they cannot get the window to stay up. I went to the dealer to get my car and they told me it would be 600 dollars to replace the window regulator. My car is 6 months old with 7000 miles. When I attempted to put the window up, it goes all the way up and then comes half way down. Then I have to make it go all the way down for the switch to work yo make the window go back up.

Maybe I am uneducated on this, but how could the window being smashed damage the programming of an electronically controlled window regulator. I think this is an error on the dealer part whether it is in the install or set up of the new glass. When I went to leave the dealer, an employee I had not spoken with came over and gave me the customer care manager card and told me to call him in the morning as he believed someone else who works there was doing me dirty. I took my car home and refused to pay the 600 for a new regulator. I feel I am being taken advantage of and was hoping for any insight or knowledge to use when I discuss this matter with the Customer Care Manager as my car is still under warranty and I believe they should be responsible for making my window go up and down as it did before. Thanks for anyone's help!
