As deep as I was, I thought I was sure to be stuck. But I was able to just put it in reverse and back out of it somehow. Here is a pic after I backed up about 3 feet. I was actually deep enough in there to get some water in both passenger doors...

What camera were you using ??
I was using my DROID razr maxx actually, it looks kinda funny due to the the anti shaking software YouTube uses.

That's funny, I filmed my offroad videos with a DROID Razr, too, but didn't use the anti shake in YouTube. I think yours looks better.

Stock tires, it seems I get asked that in every thread concerning traction lol. I am pretty happy with them, I don't have any intention of replacing them any time soon.

Looks like a lot of fun. One of the reasons I wanted an awd vehicle was for getting through snow. I've got one of those jobs where our go time is when everyone else is at home due to weather. Great to see how well it handled and got unstuck.

I drove my Crosstrek through a pretty big snow storm that lasted about four hours on my way from NC to CA and it did awesome. It was my first time driving in snow but I still felt confident.

You already answered it, but my first thought was, are those the stock tires?! Wow, I am kicking myself for walking down the hill (well, it's a 1.5 mile unpaved cliff road) to check our camp and not driving down last weekend. Way less snow than you were driving through there. XV is my first Subaru, and I'm just not familiar with what the AWD can handle for traction. Great video, glad you were able to back out.

I'm looking forward to my first ride in the snow. After having to drive a 10 year old escort though the snowstorms that hit the eastern us hard two years ago I decided to invest in a 4wd or awd vehicle when I could afford a new car.

I couldn't imagine. My dad had a pretty old Escort for a while (I think a 93) and I hated that thing.
