Brainstorming....Lift/drop from stock option?

I am currently building a truck with my son and contemplating taking my wife's DD '14 Crosstrek Premium 5MT (171K miles) as she wants to step up to a Forester Wilderness.. I'd be selling my DD, an 05 Highlander AWD (350K miles) and would like a subtle lift in the Crosstrek. I have the stock 17" wheels w/ Continental TrueContacts for April to November driving and 16" first gen WRX wheels w/ General Altimax Arctics for snow season. I also have a set of 15" alloys from my 99 Legacy I'd consider putting p235/75r15 AT's on for the lifted Crosstrek .

I understand the lift kit issues and camber adjustments that go with them. Has anyone pursued pulling the Crosstrek specific subframe spacers for a drop or double stacking the spacers for a lift (I've see it done for a 'poor man's lift' on a first gen Legacy SUS Outback.) Pros/Cons for this? Using Forester Struts like the Legacy Lift swaps for gen 2/3/4 also?

I was thinking I could also use those factory Crosstrek spacers for a simple and super-subtle 1"-ish body lift on his 88 Ford Ranger 4x4 as well (He doesnt; like the look of the 3" body lift blocks and the 'gap'.

Thoughts and suggestions, advice please?
I am not experienced with modifying the post '10 Subies as much
Thanks,
Mike
