Well for those of you that may be interested or care, I have decided to be the Guinea Pig and order a Carbon Fiber hood. I looked around everywhere to find someone else that had tried it but was unsuccessful. I had a piece of metal fall off of the vehicle in front of me on the highway, bounce up and put a sizable dent in the hood of my poor Crosstrek. Since genius me had a high deductible I didn't receive as much as I would have liked for repairs on the vehicle but I did get enough to try out the Carbon Fiber hood. In all of my research, it appears that the Impreza and the Crosstrek share the exact same dimensions and therefore hopefully share the same hood. I went ahead and ordered one and it should be delivered the 24th of August. I will keep you all updated with pictures as to whether it works or not. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

So I have somewhat of an odd request I need help with. The hood that the send me wouldn't even fit on an actual Impreza but in order for me not to have to pay return shipping I have to provide the VIN number of my car for the manufacturer to check fitment on. So does anyone own a 2013 Subaru Impreza that has the same hood lines as a crosstrek that they could send me the VIN number of in a private message?

Find one for sale at a dealer that gives free CarFax reports and use that VIN

According to Subaru's Parts and Accessories website, there is no difference between Impreza and XV Crosstrek hoods.

The chassis code [fourth and fifth digits] of the XV Crosstrek and Impreza 5-door hatch is GP, so seeing the "GP" chassis should be a dead giveaway your vehicle is based on the Impreza.

That dent is painful to look at! Sorry to hear about the damage. I had a black Toyota Celica GT and a guy ahead of me ran over a big traffic cone and flung it against the right front side of my car, putting a massive scuff in the front right of the nose. Luckily I was able to get it buffed out. Good luck on the carbon fiber hood, that looks good, and I like the scoop on it.
