Ok... So don't laugh at my ignorance for not knowing the answer to this question. But, it just hit me tonight that I don't know. So here goes...

What does the "XV" stand for on our cars???

Does it relate to "x.. As in "crossover" somehow?
Is it really a version number as in Roman numeral 15?
Or does it mean absolutely nothing, simply being another letter-identifier in the sea of letter-identified cars out there?

I suppose this may be one of those trivial details that no one really thinks about. But, I figure I own one... So I ought to know what it means.

Anybody happen to have this tidbit of fact?

Say... That's a good question too! Which makes me ask, where/what MY13?

Now I'm really confused cuz I know the OZ models have little i's in them too.
Gees! (Not my original word choice. Lol).

I did finally find the answer to my original post, as according to Subie. But yes, now we are on the MY13 thingie.

I second "Crossover Vehicle" acronym.

Pretty sure I saw it on some promotional video or something.

While we're here though ... Anyone know what WRX stands for?
World Rally Cross?

I will play along.

As an aviation mechanic x mean experimental in aviation.

XV = Experimental Vehicle by Subaru

Subaru wanted to prove that you could make a great AWD, off road/highway Vehicle and also deliver great gas mileage..

That my story an I am going to stick by it. LOL

Most certain the XV is for Crossover Vehicle. As far as the MY13. Not sure
