Have a 2016 Limited Crystal White Pearl...previously I owned a 2014 DGM Premium. One thing I noticed is how dirty the white gets lol

So I'm looking at the dirt on my rear bumper and discovered how flimsy the rear bumper is on my Limited. It seems like just a hunk of plastic covering a whole bunch of nothing under it. If I put my hand underneath where the face panel is on the bottom and lift up a bit there is play in the bumper panel..I mean it feels like it is just semi bolted on and there is a bit if play in it.

I don't recall my 2014 rear bumper being this flimsy and cheesy.

Even the rear mud flaps feel like they are loosely attached.

Is this normal or did I get a Friday build where they didn't tight things up? I looked underneath and looks like there is only a couple of pushpins and clips holding this thing on.

Literally I feel like if I grab the bumper at the bottom and give a good yank I'd rip the whole thing off

There could be some clips missing or perhaps there was a design change, but I doubt it. Maybe you did get one of those Friday builds.

But honestly, today's "bumpers" are nothing more than cosmetic crumple zones.

Reading this, I had to go check. My new 2016 also feels flimsy and kind of lifts a bit with not much force. It makes sense AWD about these being cosmetic crumple zones but still you'd think it would be attached a little more solidly! I will ask the dealer about it when I go in for my first 6k oil change.

I think you verified my comment. It doesn't take much force to wiggle the bumper and have it move

Working in a body shop in a car dealer, I can tell you first hand that bumpers on new cars are crap. It's all plastic. The clips that hold it on the car and every other piece is all plastic. Maybe a few actual bolts if your lucky. It's all meant for cosmetic and nothing more. The structural components are all covered up. Gotta love new cars!
