I own a 2014 Crosstrek. The front seat headrests are tilted forward extremely far to the extent that when seated, only the tip of the headrest touches and pokes the back of my head. Leaning back is very uncomfortable and seems unsafe during a crash. I see no way to adjust their angle. Why are they tilted so far forward and how do I correct this?

Grab the top of the headrest and gently pull towards the front then release. It should retract all the way back. Its like a racheting mechanism for adjusting.

Yeah this happened in my 2019 crosstrek. I had someone in my car when I first got it and he screwed with the headrest and I couldn’t for the life of me figure out how to get it back to normal. What the other person said is how you can get it back in place.

I found out by accident. I was so annoyed, i yanked on the top of the head rest and it snapped back. It was like one of those moments.
