Welcome to the site, awesome pics! I am originally from Wilmington myself so I know a bit of the Charlotte area, though admittedly never spent that much time there.
Wilmington is better.. <g> At least, if you are into kayaking, fishing, and windsurfing. I spent a LOT of time there 15 years ago when I was dating a girl there. What a blast. Made the front page of the newspaper once...<g>

Fun stuff.. Wonder how the Crosstrek would do on the sand out at the north end of Carolina Beach? (Can you still drive on it these days?)

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone..

<g> Honestly, I can't remember. I doubt it. I do remember hitting that wave and it actually popped my back foot out of the back footstrap..so that part wasn't intentional. I like to think I landed it and sailed away.. <g>

Welcome aboard! I live in the Charlotte area as well (closer to Concord I guess). If you see another Tangerine Crosstrek cruising around with a ClubCrosstrek sticker on it, well you know who it is ;)

Sorry, I'm just seeing this as I try to catch up on all the new posts on the forum!

That is a great pic, and yes I do love the beach, but about as much as I love the city. That's a big reason I really like Los Angeles; beach AND city AND desert AND mountains all within two hours!

As far as driving on Carolina Beach, yes you still can, but unfortunately I never had a chance to test out my Crosstrek there (only had it in Wilmington about one week in December). My partner, Thelosis, would probably be able to answer some of your question as he goes out there quite a bit. I think the Crosstrek would do just fine, though.
