Just traded my trusty 2015 Limited for a 2023 Limited

Went from dark gray metallic to cool gray khaki. Took a few weeks to arrive but seems worth the wait.

Felt a bit like a spaceship on the hour long drive home tonight but I’m sure it’ll soon feel at home around me.

I usually don’t do it, but I decided to go for the prepaid service and 100k warranty extension. Seemed to make sense economically and I plan to put at least 100k on this one. The 2015 had 117k on it today.

I got the extended warranty as well on my 2023, it is a good idea since it's being offered by Subaru itself, you can use it at any Subaru dealership. I also got the coating package for the interior and exterior, mostly for the interior since I have kids and a drooly dog.

Nice upgrade. If I didn’t get my ice silver that was the color I was going to choose.

Old and new.
I've got the same year, color and miles as your old one. Mind if I ask what they gave you for it?

Hi Jason - sent you a direct message with this info.

Best
It's amazing how much they're asking for used Crosstreks, I get a constant barrage of adds for them since I bought mine.
In all of them they're asking thousands over what I paid for it new.

I agree - it is amazing to see. I think many people may be paying premiums to get a car instantly. I waited three weeks for my new one and am glad I did.
Both me and my wife paid msrp for ours two weeks ago. And the dealership was sold out after that. We waited two weeks for it to come in.

You are so lucky in USA to have to wait just a few weeks to get a new car. In Canada the wait time for a new Crosstrek order is in between 5 months and 6 months. Subaru Canada says 6 months to 8 months for brand new orders. Best to ask the dealership if they have any cars pre-ordered and on their way from Japan, in which case the wait time is between 8 weeks and 10 weeks. If the dealership shows you the VIN number of the car, it means it was already manufactured, so that it's just the overseas transport from Japan to the West Coast and then the rail transport to the city of destination. Dealerships tend to place orders to Subaru even with no actual buyer, as they know the cars will be sold with no problems anyway. 2-3 years old cars coming out of lease sell for the same price a brand new car, with the only advantage that you get the car right away with no wait time of months. Totally a seller market, sadly.

Yes, that’s tough. I think our resale situation is nearly the same, even though the wait times are less.

I'm in the same boat now... love my 2015 with 115K on it now, but is gonna need a few things soon that has me thinking... hmm, maybe it's time. Spent half it's life in Vermont before we moved to Florida, so there's some undercarriage issues that I'm not sure I want to invest the time in.

Problem is I waited too long and all the good 2023s are long gone. I'd go 2024, but that all electronic panel REALLY has me turned off... bring back my buttons and knobs! Even with the 2024s, there is sooo little available. I'm in Florida now and here's a story that tells it all. At work I ran into a lady in the parking lot with a brand new 2023 Forrester with Brattleboro, VT Subaru labels and a VT temp tag on it. I asked if she was from Vermont and did she drive it down here. She said no, they were from Florida and they couldn't find anything with the options they wanted. Doing internet searches they finally found this one in Brattelboro, they bought it sight unseen and had it shipped down!

Wow! The things you have to do these days to find enough cars to choose from. Long gone are the days when we could walk on the lot and go ennie-mennie-minie-mo for what you wanted. Enjoy!

I’m sure you’ll find one! I’m not familiar with the changes from 2023-2024 yet, but don’t feel bad at all that I bought the 2023. Mature product and very well refined.

Best of luck and keep us posted.
Toward the end of February, I was very lucky getting one of the last '23 CGK Sports in my area. I waited a tad late in deciding that I wanted that color combo (grey softex) and package 22 (sunroof, bigger screen, rear xtraffic), and of course the J-vin (...unavailable in the 2024).
So, i left my contact info with the dealer's internet guy who had assisted my during my test drive of a Limited.
Anyway, he said that the dealership might be getting a couple more (unknown color/packages) over the next week or two before it dries up...he'd let me know either way.
That same day he called me and said they had one that has just come off the truck. It wasn't in their available in-stock list yet, the transport plastic was still on it
Drove up and bought it...no add ons. Waited to get it detailed and gassed up. Fastest dealer purchase I've ever made. No regrets.
