I'm thinking of buying a Crosstrek to replace my 2006 Outback which now has 212k miles.

Just recently I've learned a lot about modifying Subarus, first off the stock tires suck etc.

The only negative I've heard, from a 2014 Crosstrek owner, is that the seats are too hard/thin for more than an hour's ride.

Welcome to the club!

If you haven't already, I highly recommend you check out the break-in procedures necessary for optimal break-in of the components if you do get a new Subaru.

As for seats, I beg to differ on the seat comfort.

I used to drive about 60,000 miles a year. I spent about 4-6 hours a day driving for 5 days a week. Not once have I had any discomfort from driving. Hell, once I drove 13 hours and didn't feel any pain as a result of the seats.
