I don't know if I am jumping the gun joining the forum but I would love an XV Crosstrek. It would be my first Subaru. I have been wanting to get a Subaru for a long time but haven't been able to afford one until now. The Crosstrek is the car I have been waiting for.

If things work out I will be going to the dealer today to look at a Dessert Khaki Premium CVT with no extras. I made an offer of $21,600 via their website and they accepted. Hopefully they won't try to stick me with any unnecessary extras and fees to jack up the price. I will have to watch out for that. I have done my research on Consumer Reports and feel that I am ready.

I am in South Florida and have yet to see an XV Crosstrek on the road. I probably have better chances of winning the lottery than seen one down here.

Well I hope all goes well! Mine is a khaki as well and the color has really grown on me.

Quite a few XV owners on this forum are first-time Subaru owners as well. If it all works out well for you, definitely stick around and let us know how you like it and what mods/additions you make.

I like khaki since it is an original color. You don't see it in other cars. The dealers down here mainly sell black, white, red, blue and silver. It is rare to find tangerine and even more so khaki.

Well, I technically got my Crosstrek last night. It won't arrive until the end of the month. Overall the deal came out pretty good, although I think it could have been better. But, when it comes to buying a car it is almost impossible to get what you want.

At least I got the car exactly like I wanted. Base premium with CVT and nothing else, in the color I wanted.

I am now doing some research on some items I want to buy for the car.

1. custom fit all weather floor mats, either from Weathertech or Husky.
2. hitch. suggestions appreciated.
3. hood wind deflector
4. I was going to get seat covers but I think I will instead do the Scotchgard treatment. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Maybe I should post this with the questions under another topic?

First off, welcome to the site, Hector, glad to have you here.

As for your item list, all of those things have been discussed on the forum so I am sure you can find information on what you are looking for. If not, please feel free to make a new thread! Also, we always love to see pics of members' Crosstreks, so once yours arrive it would be awesome for you to share.

Thanks for joining!

Glad to hear it mostly went well! Pictures soon, right?

As for your list, I like the Torklift hitch personally, but the Curt is a good option as well. Curt is around $150. Torklift is $250, but stays hidden. Both are available in 2" or 1.25" and will pull anything your XV can manage.

I'm also very happy with my Weathertech liners. Another member has made a great post regarding their Huskies. That's a tough choice

Wait. You have to wait for your car to be delivered? That bites. Here in Peoria Arizona the dealership has about 50 in stock. But only one in kaki.

The inventories have been REALLY low until now.... well.. until last month I guess. Most in my area were sold in transit and were gone the minute they hit the lot. First I ever saw the XV was online.... and could not get to see one for around month... then 6 months later, I got mine AFTER my FIRST test drive.

Down here in south Florida the Subaru is not too popular. The dealers will have anywhere from 4 to 15 Crosstreks on the lot or in transit. This limits the styles and colors you can choose from. Pretty much all the Crosstreks have a moon roof or one of the popular packages added on. I wanted a base Premium with CVT in Dessert Khaki. This color is rare at the dealers.

I got the car today! The drive home from the dealer, about 60 miles, gave me a good feel for the car. It is definitely not a luxury car nor a sports car. If you are looking for a soft ride get the Legacy. If you are looking for speed and power then buy the BRZ. But, if you are looking for a car that can do anything and take you anywhere then the Crosstrek is for you.

Personally, I like the stiffer ride and the handling. As for power I did not find it lacking. I like the car very much and hope to keep it for a very long time. It will probably be the last car I buy.

I will try to post some pics tomorrow in the gallery section.

Congrats on finally getting it, that's great! The lack of power was extremely exaggerated in a lot of the early reviews, but I feel like you hardly read that anymore. I think it has fine power and only time I notice it lacking is sometimes when I have a short onramp to the highway that's uphill and the AC is on. Other than that it is fine, especially once you are at cruising speed.
