Well we did it we plasti dipped the side molding!
getting her all taped up



first coat :)

after 7 coats but before peeling the access off


finished product...will get better pics tomorrow if it's nice out!

hmm. That's a nice strong accent look... sets it off and makes it look even sportier

How long did you let it dry inbetween coats. I've heard anywhere from 10-30 minutes.

10 minutes for some in the beginning but then switched to 15 minutes.

Thanks....hubby ended up helping!lol I was little scared doing it but in my mind I could see so we just went with it!lol I really like it :)

I'm a little confused on how the Plasti Dip peels off. Did you have to cut the edge with something where you wanted to peel? I can't see that being possible as it would scratch the paint underneath.

I guess what I'm asking is how were you able to peel exactly along the edge of the moldings?

It`s kinda like magic, cuz I was worried about same thing. Now some areas I had a hard time grabbing a small strip so I used a toothpick to get it & that doesn't scratch the paint. I was amazed at how it works! Plus we did get some over spray even past what we taped off but we just used a Terry cloth rag & it wiped off.

Hubby likes this pic best cuz it doesn't have shadows! We had just come of restaurant for lunch & thought hey that's a great shot ;)
