I went to the link and at the bottom of the page it says that they do not recommend the procedure on seats with airbags....

On doing any alternations, their covering their butts of law suits. Their have been people in this world that think cruse control on a cars means auto autopilot (self driving). If you look at the bucket seat where the back pocket is, you can see a little tag on the seem that said's side airbag. As long as the airbag is not stitched, glued or cover over, in anyway it should be ok . Allot of people, and I'm one of them have purchased aftermarket car seat covers with extra padding for my Crosstrek.
