I've looked all over and can't find the thread size for the manual shifter. I have the stock plastic shifter and would like to upgrade. Anyone know it? Please post! I've found M12 x1.25 for other Subaru models but have been unable to confirm this size for our XV.

THANKS in advance 8)

I'm not 100% Sure about the XV but EVERY other Subaru 5 speed uses the same size knob since 1993 so anything for say a WRX should work just fine on your car. I'll try to remember to try one at work today and make sure they're the same but I'm guessing they are.

Nice upgrade Ski...the plastic shift knob is my least favorite part of the XV. Can't wait for mine to get here now that its ordered. The best stock shifter I've driven was on a Civis Si many moons ago.

How is the weight on the Cobb? The one I ordered is 4 oz and is cue ball shaped. I also ordered a 3" extension...don't know if I'll use it but want to give it a try and see if it improves the feel. If I don't like the setup, I'm going to try a short shift kit. I'm just not enamored with the feel of this system. It's ok, but that's as complimentary as I can be.

Weight felt similar to the stock (which was surprisingly heavy when off). Overall height is a tad shorter, but not dramatically lower.

I'm a big fan of the Cobb shift knobs. Very nice feel overall. I image the throw will be wicked long with that extension on there but who knows!
