New to Subaru...
Just picked up pre owned certified 2017 Limited.
Want to install 2 inch lift.
Looking at rims 17x8 - but getting so much conflicting info about offset.
Will 38mm offset work?
Also looking at 225/60R17 Falken Wildpeak a/t tires...

any advice/opinion???
Thanks in advance...

Both the 17 and 18" OEM wheels are +55.
For instance +48 wheels will stick out 3.5 mm or .275 inches more ( than +55) would per side.

The offsets changed in the 2nd gen Crosstreks. So your first gen had an offset of 48 with a 17" wheel. 2nd gens are 55. I like going to the Tirerack's website and seeing the offsets for different wheels for the year of your Crosstrek. You can get a good idea of what will work.

Subaru recommends a 55mm offset and has designed the wheel well and arch protectors accordingly. An offset of 48 mm will be like a 7mm or .275 inch wheel spacer, when a 55mm offset is specified. My 17 inch steel rims which are 48mm, still fit within the wheel arches.
My experience indicates that its still OK.
