Hi Everybody,

I'm a recent college grad and have been driving the same '01 VW Jetta since high school which is now flirting with 200k miles.

I live in Wisconsin and have been emailing a few of the state's larger Subaru dealerships and have received and offer for a 2017 Desert Khaki Premium CVT Crosstrek with popular package #1 @ $22,610 (before title/fees/taxes).

Should I continue to push? According to truecar.com this seems to be a pretty good buy. I have a coworker who bought the same model in hyper blue for $23,000. Anything else I can ask for to be included in the deal? Is asking for a hitch/crossbars/other too much?

First time car purchase (aside from that VW for 4k in cash back in 2007), looking for some feedback from what is seemingly a very active forum.

thanks,

j

It doesn't hurt to ask for anything. Nothing ventured nothing gained. When I bought my 2015 DK Limited I got OEM window vent visor's, hood protector and a sunroof wind deflector included in the price that they quoted me. Get the final price before you ask for the goodies. Be careful of the up sale stuff they will try to tack on. These are just money makers for the dealership. If you do get some goodies they will press hard for you to sign up for these additions to re-coup what they gave you to make the deal.

Welcome to the club!

If you haven't already, I highly recommend you check out the New to Subaru thread if you're new to the brand, as well as the break-in procedures.

What's brought you to the Subaru brand, and what made you switch from a compact car to a compact crossover?
