Does anyone know which file types are supported in the OEM system? If I rip CD's to FLAC or Apple Lossless and then transfer to USB, will the audio system support it? Or are we stuck with MP3 formats?
I did not see a lot of aftermarket head units that supported FLAC. If you really want FLAC support you might be better off looking at an in dash tablet.
The brand new 2014 Clarion aftermarket head units all support FLAC. The NX404 (available now) has built in Navigation & in the video (URL below) he demo's FLAC support (and it happens to be in a crosstrek XV no less)
I just spent the better part of a week ripping all of my CDs to my computer, MP3 320, and spent the better part of last night organizing everything and transferring some of my music to 16GB USB's... Just went outside to check it out... "NO FILE"... I'm a wee bit upset, to say the least...
Furthermore, I just plugged each of these USBs into my wifes Chromebook and they played, flawlessly...
