Driving a 2014 XV Crosstrek with 27k miles. Starting at around 22-24k miles, noticed a slight wobble coming from the drivetrain/wheels when turning left or right.

Usually most noticeable when turning after a dead stop (stoplight or stopsign), continuing through the turn for a few seconds during acceleration.

3rd Subie and never had this happen before.

Any thoughts before taking it in for an alignment check?

Does it only happen on relatively tight turns or does it also happen on wide turns?

Happens mostly on tight turns, and not as pronounced on wide turns. Did notice a bit of the 'wobble' on a straight away today while accelerating from a dead stop at a stop sign.

Somewhat sounds like torque bind (viscous coupler/multi-plate clutch failure). Try driving maybe 10-15 miles, then try doing parking lot-tight turns. If you get the clunk/wobble in those tight turns, you may have that issue. Otherwise, it may be another driveline issue and/or even an alignment issue. I can't say for sure.

Thanks for your input here. Haven't conducted the suggested drive test yet, but scheduled a CVT inspection at the dealer next week.

Coincidentally, received a CVT Warranty extension notification from Subaru back in June 2017. Maybe related - will find out.

Cvt should only power front tires unless slip is encountered. And since there isn't a LSD up front the tires shouldnt be binding. Though you have low mileage, I would raise the front end off the ground, and check for ball joints and wheel bearings. Yes, I know, it's way too early for that, but crap happens.

Thanks for your input. Agreed, crap does happen! Will ask about ball joints /wheel bearings during next week's inspection. Hopefully nothing major...
