Hi, I just took delivery this week of a 2019 Crosstrek Limited (Quartz Blue Pearl, everything but nav and moonroof), my very first new vehicle ever (and probably ever). Now I'm faced with deciding which if any warranties to purchase. Money is an object, I can't really just say "yes" to all of them. I intend on having the car for a very long time but I only drive about 6,000 miles per year at the most so in ten years, I'll only be at 60k miles. Here's what's being offered by the dealer (and the prices):
* Automotive Preferred Care+Plus: parts and labor on covered repairs (almost everything except wear items, glass, tires and wheels), 10 years/120k miles, $200 deductible, $2,150 (regularly $2,895)
* Clear Shield: urethane shield applied to front vehicle surfaces to protect from road debris, $999 (seems unnecessary)
* Vehicle Appearance Protection: ceramic paint protection and interior fabric/leather, $999 (is that really necessary? note that my car is parked outside all the time)
* Ultimate Titanium Protection: tire and wheels coverage, dent and ding repair (no paint), windshield chip repair, smart key replacement for up to 5 years, $1,196
What do you all think? Any of the coverages? Are the prices good or high? Am I better off just saving some money for any future repairs?
Any advice is welcome.
