Whining noise at all rpms - suspect serpentine belt

Hey There,

This is my first post on here, I have a 2015 subaru XV with 117k and haven't had too much maintenance to deal with up until this point. However, I am having this whining noise at all rpms, and it is especially noticeable during the high idle period after starting. The AC compressor switching on does not change the sound much. During research people have said that it could be the idler pulley or the water pump bearings. However, when I sent it to a friend thats super familiar with cars, it was not the sound he was expecting. I've never replaced the belt, so going to start with that for sure and investigate all the pulleys. I've attached a video of the noise right after starting. Any advice is appreciated, thank you!

I'd be looking at the alternator but you really need to get a stethoscope (link below) and listen each component be it idler alternator or power steering pump. I'd replace an idler but I think I'd let the others go awhile.

Thanks for the replies. In my research I found that the power steering is electronic and this is the part I found..
Im going to replace the belt this weekend and while it’s off try my best to determine which pully it is. The stethoscope is great idea thanks.
This is my most memorable post on here, I have a 2015 subaru XV with 117k and haven't had an excess of support to manage up until this point. Notwithstanding, I'm having this whimpering clamor at all rpms, and it is particularly observable during the high inactive period in the wake of beginning. The Air conditioner blower turning on doesn't change the sound a lot. During research individuals have said that it very well may be the idler pulley or the water siphon course.
Hello,

What ended up happening with this issue.
I'm in same position with 93,XXX miles.
I'm gonna start with belt and idler pulley.

I was going to mention idler pulley. I had to replace one a few years ago and you can use a long funnel or even a 2 liter soda bottle with the bottom cut off to help isolate the noise so you know which one it is.

I had the EXACT same noise. It was a cheap simple fix. IDLER PULLEY $67 bucks. BAM! Piece of Cake.
